Who we are
Operator (operator.help) is an automated phone and text assistant for barbershops and salons, operated by High5 Labs LLC. When you call or text a shop that uses Operator, you are talking to the shop's automated assistant, and this policy describes what happens with the information involved.
What we collect
To take a call or a text and manage appointments, Operator handles: your phone number (which arrives with your call or message), the name you give for a booking, your appointment details (service, barber, time, price), and the contents of your conversation with the assistant. Calls handled by the assistant are transcribed so the assistant can respond; the assistant discloses that it is automated.
What we do not collect
The assistant does not accept payment card numbers by voice or text. If you start reading a card number to it, it stops you, and card-shaped digits are removed before anything is stored. When a payment is needed, you receive a secure link and enter your details directly with the payment processor; Operator never sees them.
How we use it
Your information is used to answer your questions, book, move, or cancel your appointments, send you booking confirmations and reminders, offer you an opening if you asked to be on the shop's waitlist, and show the shop what its assistant did on its behalf. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Text messages
Operator sends texts only in connection with the shop you contacted: booking confirmations, appointment reminders, waitlist offers, and replies in a conversation you started. Message frequency varies with your bookings. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to stop receiving texts, and HELP for help. Consent to receive texts is not a condition of buying anything. Mobile numbers and text-message consent are not shared with third parties for their own marketing.
Who sees it
The shop you contacted sees its own appointment book and its assistant's activity, the same way it would see a paper book at the front desk. We use service providers to run the assistant (telephony, speech, and language-model providers) and they process conversation data only to provide the service. We do not sell or rent your information.
Retention and your choices
Appointment records are kept as long as the shop keeps its book. Conversation records are kept so the shop can review what its assistant said and are deleted on request. To ask about, correct, or delete your information, contact us at hello@operator.help or ask the shop you booked with.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it, and material changes are noted here.
